HUTCHINSON BIOGRAPHY REVIEWS STATEMENT

About the Artist
Campbell Hutchinson is native of Louisiana who has lived and worked in New Orleans since 1960. He practiced law for more years than he would like to admit, but retired to pursue his passion, painting, full-time.
Hutchinson’s work is figurative, ranging from man to animal. His in-your-face portraits of cowboys, athletes, construction workers, musicians and the like are his “hardscrabble heroes.” On the other hand, his animal portraits—cows, bulls, buffaloes, roosters, pelicans, an occasional horse—are more moody and soulful. His medium is oil on board, canvas and paper.
Hutchinson and his wife Allison Stewart split their time between New Orleans and the mountains of Colorado. In 1999 they founded KID smART, a non-profit organization that provides artists in the classroom and after-school and community based programs in a variety of art forms to public school children in New Orleans.
